INTENSIVE TEST PREPARATION PROGRAM ITP 14 What is Intensive Test Preparation (ITP)? ITP is an intensive preparation course for students intending to undertake English language testing through IELTS, TOEFL or the Pearson Test of English (PTE). ITP is also for students who wish to qualify for entry into CET's Direct Entry Courses (DEC). What will I learn? You will receive: -- expert tuition -- familiarisation with test content -- upgrading of test-taking skills -- support in areas of di culty -- speci c test-taking tips -- feedback on practice tests covering your listening, speaking, reading and writing. What do I need to enter this course? There are no entry requirements. You will be placed in a class according to your IELTS score or equivalent or your score on the CET placement test. How many hours a week will I need to study? You will need to attend classes for 20 hours a week. You will also be expected to do additional work at home. How long is this course? The minimum course length is two weeks, but the course is usually studied in 11 week blocks. How long you will need to study will depend on your current level of English, how quickly you progress in the course and the English language level you want to achieve. You can also study ITP concurrently with other courses. When does this course start and nish? There are nine intakes per year, but you can join an ongoing course on any Monday. See the table below for details. Can I move from ITP to other courses at CET? You can transfer from this course to another CET course, such as DEC, General English, ESP or PDP. Note: di erent course fees may apply. How much does this course cost? Course Fees: $425 per week. Please note: Minimum 2 weeks. Admission Fee: $290 (non-refundable) payable on acceptance of your o er. Materials Fee: $75.00 for the rst 5 weeks plus $10 for every additional week of study. Note: Health insurance fee: Student visa holders must pay a health insurance fee. Other visa holders must arrange their own health insurance. We will then tailor a test preparation program for you. This service includes: -- help in deciding which test will best meet your needs -- recommendation of a suitable preparation program -- recommendation of a suitable length of study time -- help with test enrolment. WHAT CAN I USE MY ENGLISH TEST RESULTS FOR? People undertake English language tests for a range of reasons. Your test results can be used to: -- obtain a valid assessment of your English language level -- meet the English language requirements to study at university, TAFE or vocational college -- meet the English language requirements to study CET's Direct Entry Courses -- provide evidence of English language ability to get a job -- meet immigration requirements.
